My teaching philosophy is centered on students’ active learning, experience, and critical reflection. I utilized pedagogical activities such as mapping the uneven impacts of sea-level rise on inner-city neighborhoods and conducting a web-based simulation of how poverty intersects with environmental justice issues. Through these pedagogical activities, I am committed to helping students develop critical thinking, research skills, and a sociological imagination that empower them to pursue solutions to pressing social and environmental challenges for the common good.
I have considerable experience developing and teaching courses including Environmental Sociology, Globalization, Quantitative Research Methods, Global Climate Change and Society, and Introduction to Sociology.
